Check for virus disease before it spreads through the vine.

A free diagnostic platform for black pepper viral disease diagnosis — one photo grades leaf health in seconds, and a companion model reads viral genome sequences to confirm what's really going on underneath. Built for the people who grow it, study it, and manage it.

What this is

Two models, one workflow

Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is vulnerable to nutrient deficiency and to viral disease that's easy to miss until yield is already affected. This platform puts two purpose-built classifiers behind a single login, so a diagnosis takes minutes instead of a lab queue.

Image classification

Upload a photo of a black pepper leaf and a MobileNetV2-based model grades it across four stages — Deficiency, Healthy, Mild & Moderate, and Severe — right from a phone or laptop camera.

DNA / viral genome classification

For confirmed lab work, paste or upload a genome sequence and a 1D-CNN + BiLSTM model screens it for CMV_CP, PYMoV, and BPVF using a sliding-window majority vote.

A record you can act on

Every result lands in a personal dashboard with history and exportable CSV / PDF reports — so a diagnosis isn't a one-off screenshot, it's a trend you can track.

Why we built it

Early detection is the whole game

By the time nutrient deficiency or viral infection is obvious to the eye, a black pepper vine has often already lost productive seasons. Lab confirmation is accurate but slow and centralized. Field judgement is fast but inconsistent. This platform exists to close that gap — quick, consistent, photo-based triage in the field, backed by a genome-level check when it matters.

  • 01
Faster than a lab. A field photo gets a graded result in seconds instead of a multi-day sample turnaround.
  • 02
Consistent, not subjective. The same model grades every leaf the same way, reducing guesswork across farms and seasons.
  • 03
Backed by real research. Developed with the Department of Biotechnology, ICAR-IISR, and NIT Calicut — not a generic plant-ID app.
  • 04
One place for the whole picture. Image triage, genome confirmation, history, and reports live behind the same login.
Who it's for

Built for three different jobs

Everyone shares one login system — what you see after that is shaped by your role.

Farmer

Fast field diagnosis

Photograph a leaf, get a graded health reading immediately, and keep a running history of every plant you've checked — no lab visit required for a first read.

Scientist

Image + genome confirmation

Everything a farmer gets, plus the DNA classifier for sequence-level confirmation of viral disease — useful for verifying field results or running structured studies.

How it works

From leaf to result in four steps

1

Create an account

Register with the role that fits how you'll use the platform.

2

Choose a model

Upload a leaf photo, or paste / upload a genome sequence.

3

Get a graded result

The model returns a health stage or a viral classification in seconds.

4

Track and export

Every result saves to your dashboard, ready to export as CSV or PDF.
